Whether you’re splashing around or just soaking up the sun, there is no better place on a warm summer's day than at one of the Ottawa area's public beaches. During the summer months the city of Ottawa keeps a close eye on the swimming conditions around the city by testing the water regularly.

Ottawa's popular beaches:

  • Britannia Bay, Ottawa River
Take Richmond Road to Britannia Road, or just follow the Ottawa River Parkway bike path. 

  • Mooney's Bay, Rideau River, Riverside Drive.
By car, take Riverside Drive just north of Walkley Road. Or take Colonel By Drive bike path to Hog's Back. Cross Meadowlands Drive and take the path through the marina.

  • Rideau Township
Baxter Conservation Area, Rideau River, south of Manotick.

  • Westboro
Ottawa River, off the Ottawa River Parkway, at Kitchissippi Lookout
